The wind that had frothed the bay for several days abated almost completely for the start of the 1.5 mile swim from the San Francisco Yacht Club back to Aquatic Park. A decent flood tide carried the swimmers home under near-perfect – if still a little cold – conditions. Congratulations go first to Chris Wagner on a terrific swim and his second win of the year. Second to the other thirty-two swimmers who braved the cold water and finished the race in universal Dolphin Club style, but most especially to the many for whom this was a first experience swimming outside the cove. Here’s to many more fun swims this year. Thanks, as always, to the superb pilots and helpers, and of course, our irreplaceable Swim Commissioner Brian Herrick.
