Over 60 Cove is Sunday, October 4

The Walt Schneebli Over 60 Cove is Sunday, October 4.

Come down to the club to celebrate our most experienced swimmers.  The Over 60 Cove will have multiple courses, including the Commodore’s Course.  We will need a few pilots and maybe a few other folks to swim the course for the fun of it.

Check In: 10:00-10:30 AM; Swim & Pilot Briefing: 10:30 AM; Beach Start: 11:00 AM.  Food and trinkets to follow.

We will need galley help, check in help, clean up help (this crowd can party), and some pilots.

DC vs. SE Tri is Saturday, September 26–Rowing Details

Here are the details for the rowing competition vs. South End:

05:30 Registration opens; 05:55 Coin toss for barge position; 06:00 Row briefing; 06:30 Timers start on Muni Pier; 06:30-45 Barge race starts; 07:00 2x Shells start; 07:05 1x Shells start; 07:10 2x Vikings start; 07:15 1x Vikings start; 07:20 2x Heavies start; 07:25 1x Heavies start.
We intend to stick to the timetable as closely as possible due to the tough currents.  If a boat is not at the starting line when it is scheduled to be there, the race will start without them. Remember, this is not a timed regatta.
All boats, including any SERC boats, launching from the DC dock will have to be checked in with the Dockmaster and be ready to launch when called.  Sequence is the same as in the schedule above.  Visiting boats may launch ahead of the Host boats in their class at the Dockmaster’s discretion.
If you want to row, and have not communicated this to the Boat Captain, please email jd@jddurst.com.

DC vs SE Tri is Saturday, September 26–Swim Details

The Tri vs South End is Saturday, September 26!

Put a Big Blue Circle around that Date.

In 2014, we won the plaque for the first time in forever . We want to keep it. It looks great above the stairs. The stairs will look sad without it.

The swim is won due to FAST SWIMMERS AND A GREAT TURNOUT. If we only have one half of the equation, we won’t win the swim. We need everyone.

This is a great swim. It’s from Yacht Harbor (the beach by the St. Francis Yacht Club) to Aquatic Park on a powerful flood: 3.4 knots max flood at jump time.

Here’s the schedule for the swim:

Swimmer and Pilot Registration from 7:00 to 8:15 AM, Pilot Briefing at 8:15 AM, Buses depart for Yacht Harbor at 8:30, Swim Briefing for Both Clubs at 9:05 at Yacht Harbor, Jump at 9:15 AM.

All DC members are welcome to join this swim. Even if you just joined this month, you can join this swim. The 6 month rule applies to Dolphin Club only swims.

No USMS required. No Dolphin Club Swim Dues required. No 6 Month Rule.

Spread the word: We want all of our swimmers!
